Mickey Rourke Faces Eviction: Fundraising Campaign Launched to Save His Home (2026)

Hollywood icon Mickey Rourke is facing a crisis, and it's a stark reminder that even the biggest stars can face tough times. Rourke, known for his captivating performances in films like The Wrestler and 9 1/2 Weeks, is battling to keep a roof over his head.

In a surprising turn of events, the actor is facing eviction from his Los Angeles home. He was sued in December for owing nearly $60,000 in back rent on his three-bedroom Spanish bungalow, a residence south of West Hollywood.

To avoid losing his home, Rourke's friend, Liya-Joelle Jones, launched a GoFundMe campaign titled "Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home." The page explains that Rourke is experiencing a "challenging financial moment." The goal is to provide him with stability and peace of mind during this difficult period.

And this is the part most people miss... The GoFundMe page emphasizes that every donation, regardless of size, will make a real difference. At the time of reporting, the campaign has already raised over $53,000, more than halfway towards its $100,000 goal, and nearly enough to cover the back rent.

“Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” Jones told The Hollywood Reporter.

But here's where it gets controversial... Rourke's career has seen its share of ups and downs. He achieved early fame in the coming-of-age comedy Diner and later starred in films like Rumble Fish and 9 1/2 Weeks. After a career lull, he made a triumphant comeback with roles in Sin City, Iron Man 2, and his Oscar-nominated performance in The Wrestler. However, he has largely appeared in direct-to-video films in the last decade.

Rourke signed the lease on his current home in March. Interestingly, the home once housed author Raymond Chandler in the 1940s. Shortly after, Rourke entered Celebrity Big Brother UK but left due to inappropriate language and behavior.

What do you think about this situation? Do you believe that public figures have a responsibility to manage their finances, or do you think it's fair to support them during financial hardship? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
