Apple's Product Drop Week Continues with a New MacBook Air: M5 Processor, $100 More Than M4
Apple has just raised the price of the MacBook Air by $100 with the release of the new MacBook Air with M5. While Samsung cited chip prices and demand, Apple justifies the price hike by doubling the standard storage to 512GB on a faster SSD. Despite the increase, the MacBook Air with M5 still offers a solid entry price for a Mac, and with the latest M5 processor, it's more powerful than ever.
"The new MacBook Air with M5 delivers exceptional performance and enhanced capabilities to the world's most popular laptop," said John Ternus, Apple's senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. "With M5, MacBook Air excels at a wide range of tasks, from everyday productivity to creative workloads, and is even faster for AI. Now featuring double the starting storage, as well as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, in a sleek and durable design with long battery life, MacBook Air is the perfect laptop for anyone who values the unrivalled combination of performance and portability."
Available in the same four colors, Light Blue, Starlight, Silver, and Midnight, this upgrade under the hood ensures the MacBook Air lineup remains at the cutting edge of Apple's silicon offerings. The MacBook Air with M5 also features the Apple N1 wireless chip, which brings Wi-Fi 7, an upgrade from 6E on the previous model.
Pre-orders for the MacBook Air with M5 will begin tomorrow, and it will be available for purchase on March 11th.
